It's a little while after the solstice when a gift arrives at the Treehouse addressed to Halsin. It's a neat little woven basket, and contained inside are a handful of items: a coil of sleek shibari rope in shades of green, a big jar of honey with the comb, and what appears to be a chrysalis of brass and gold and green enamel, with a clockwork key in one end. When wound, it will crack open along a seam and a butterfly will emerge, gradually stretching and unfurling silk wings.
When the clockwork winds down, the little butterfly tucks itself back inside and closes the chrysalis behind it.
Craft cannot improve upon nature, of course, but it can create a tender imitation, the attached note reads. Merry Holidays, dear friend. Know that you are loved and that I hope to see you soon. ~Barcus Wroot
